- Put them straight into a folder and ask them all
Sunday catch-up
A college student recorded eight classes this week on her phone. On Sunday she selects all eight files in one go, and by the time she has made tea the notes are arriving one after another. She moves them into the "Semester 3" folder and asks it for the week's key points. (An illustration of how the app works, not a real customer.)
Record → ask → get
1 · Select up to 10 files
Choose the recordings from your phone or laptop in one go — MP3, M4A, WAV and similar audio.
2 · Get a note for each
Each file becomes its own note with a transcript, a summary and a title. You can watch the queue as it goes.
3 · Ask them together
Select the new notes or put them in a folder, then ask one question across all of them.
Example
You ask: “Summarize all selected on one topic: this week's key points”
Example answer: “Monday: demand falls as price rises — income and substitution effects (Source: Economics 1). Wednesday: price elasticity, petrol as the inelastic example (Source: Economics 2). Friday: consumer surplus, worked on the board (Source: Economics 3).”
You ask: “What's still open?”
Example answer: “Pricing for the pilot is undecided (Source: Call with Ravi, Tue). The contract draft is waiting for legal (Source: Team sync, Thu).”
A batch is a folder waiting to happen
After a batch, move the notes into one folder — a week, a course, a client — and ask the whole folder one question.
- Summarize all selected on one topic
- What's still open?
- My action items
- Quiz me (10 questions)

- Chat with your recordings. Ask one recording, several, or a whole folder — every answer names the recording it came from.
- One-tap quiz, flashcards, action items, timeline. Tap once to turn your recordings into a quiz, flashcards, a list of action items or a dated timeline.
- Save a chat answer as Word or PDF, email it, or keep it as a note. Keep a good answer: download it, send it to your inbox, or save it next to your recordings. Answers in Indian scripts download as Word.
- Unlimited — fair use of 20 hours a month, more on request. Stop counting minutes: fair use covers 20 hours of recordings a month (free: 300 minutes) — more on request.
- Files up to 2 hours / 300 MB. Do the whole lecture, hearing or podcast in one go — free files stop at 100 minutes.
- Upload up to 10 files at once, a note for each. Drop a week of recordings in one go and get a finished note for each one.
- Text from a photo, scanned PDF or YouTube video. Turn a whiteboard photo, a scanned judgment or a captioned YouTube video into notes you can translate and summarise.
- Paste up to 50,000 characters to translate and summarise. Translate and summarise a whole chapter or report at once — free text stops at 5,000 characters.
- Email a meeting’s action items to up to 5 people. Send everyone their to-dos straight from the note — no copying and pasting.
- Download the original audio. Keep the recording itself to share or archive, next to its transcript and summary.
- As many folders as you need — including lawyers’ case folders. A folder for every course, client or case — free has 2.
- Case chat for lawyers — timelines, contradictions, client updates. Ask across a client’s hearings and calls: build a timeline, list contradictions, draft a client update.
- SRT subtitles (Pro). Download timed subtitle files (.srt) for your recordings: 4 hours a month.
Questions
How many files can I upload at once?
Up to 10 files in one selection on Pro. If you pick more than 10, hearlog asks you to upload them in smaller groups. On the free plan you upload one file at a time.
Do minutes still count?
Pro is unlimited transcription (fair use) — fair use of 20 hours a month, more on request — and each file must be within the 2-hour, 300 MB per-file limit.
Can I keep using hearlog while a batch runs?
Yes. The batch works through the files one after another and shows its progress. Each note appears in your list as soon as it is ready.
What if one file fails?
That file is marked as failed with the reason, the rest of the batch carries on, and you can retry the failed file from the batch list.
